Officers
Tom Ventura
, Board Chair
Tom Ventura is a health data analyst and evaluator with the Colorado Foundation for Medical Care (CFMC), the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the state of Colorado. He provides technical assistance on the evaluation methods and outcomes measurement for the Integrating Care for Populations and Communities Aim, a QIO initiative to improve care transitions and prevent avoidable re-hospitalizations among Medicare beneficiaries in 53 U.S. states and territories. He has served on technical expert panels to define care transitions best practices, as well as review panels selecting health initiative funding awardees. Tom has also worked as an epidemiologist for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and in consultancies for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the Reed Group and The Colorado Trust. He has served on the RAAP Board of Directors since 2009 and is a youth mentor and board member for Metro Denver Partners.

Roger Schmitz, Treasurer
Roger was born in St. Louis but since his family moved to Colorado when he was 3, he is proud to call himself a Colorado native. He is a graduate of Colorado State University with a BS in Finance and Real Estate. He has just recently retired after 32 years as a Senior Banking Executive with several major Denver Banking Institutions. His last role was a Senior Vice President at UMB. He has significant experience in commercial and retail lending, financial analysis, marketing, and new business development. He is recognized as a strategic business partner with the ability to establish long term client relationships resulting in a significant portfolio growth. He is acknowledged as an industry leader in medical markets and health care lending. He started his banking career at Mountain States Bank and had management roles at United, Norwest, and Wells Fargo Banks. He currently serves on the Board of the Rape Assistance and Awareness Program, Denver Options—one of the largest non-profits in the state, and the Explorers Board a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts. He is an alumnus of Leadership Denver, Class 2000. He has two sons, Adam and Michael and lives with his wife, Maureen in Englewood. He is an avid Rockies and Rams fan and on the constant search to improve his golf handicap.


Kimberly Irby, MPH, Secretary—Program Manager, Colorado Foundation for Medical Care
Kimberly Irby, MPH is a Program Manager for Care Transitions activities for Colorado Foundation for Medical Care (CFMC), the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Colorado. She currently serves as the Program Manager of Analytics for Integrating Care for Populations and Communities National Coordinating Center (ICPSNCC), supporting QIOs across the country as they identify local target communities and work to implement improvement plans that coordinate hospital and community-based systems of care to improve care transitions by enhancing information transfer between health care providers and patients, developing consistent workflow processes, and increasing patient activation and satisfaction. She has a Master's of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from The George Washington University. Ms. Irby recently completed the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education course titled, "Leadership, Organizing and Action: Leading Change," designed to teach leaders of civic associations, community groups and social movements how to organize communities that can mobilize power to make change.

Jason A. Anderson—Victim Advocate, Denver District Attorney's Office
Jason A. Anderson has over 7 years of experience working with and on the behalf of victims of crime in Denver, Colorado. Jason joined the Board of Directors of Rape Assistance and Awareness Program (RAAP) in 2011. He has previously worked for or volunteered for the Denver Police Department, Denver County Court, and the Denver City Attorney’s Office. Jason currently works as a Victim Advocate for the Denver District Attorney’s Office. Jason serves on the boards of and volunteers for multiple non-profit organizations within the community. He understands the importance and the necessity of cooperation and collaboration between the criminal justice system and community based non-profit organizations such as RAAP. Jason received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Jason lives and works in Denver and enjoys a wide variety of activities in his spare time.



Ted Bellamy, Director of Business Development—Global Prairie
Ted Bellamy has more than 20 years of diverse business development, sales management and
consulting experience. Prior to joining Global Prairie, his roles have included company founder, director of sales, and regional director of sales and he’s worked in the real estate, building product, energy and software industries. At Global Prairie, Ted serves as director of business development with a focus on life sciences, clean tech and renewable energy. Before joining Global Prairie, Ted founded The Daniels Group, a retained executive search and human capital consultancy serving various aspects of the real estate industry. Prior to that, Ted was director of sales for BuildNet, a software and e-business firm that was funded by a $100mm venture capital investment. Ted also held senior sales positions with divisions of Masco (MAS) and Fortune Brands (FO). Ted holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida and Master’s degree in Organizational Performance and Change from Colorado State University.

Amy Gaines
Amy Gaines has been a major donor and active volunteer at RAAP since 1986. In addition to being a Board Member, she has served as a Hotline Advocate, on the Speakers Bureau, and with the Prevention Department in the past. Her work history includes serving as the Executive Director of the Columbia-Greene Rape Crisis Center in the mid-eighties and as a Marketing Consultant for corporations such as General Electric Company and a large telecommunications company in Colorado.

Lori Boccato, Account Director—Cactus Marketing Communications
Lori Boccato currently is an Account Director for Cactus Communications and is leading the efforts on recent Colorado Lottery Campaigns. Lori is an energetic leader who builds and manages top-notch teams with a continuous focus on excellence. She is a successful ad agency executive who is trusted strategic advisor and innovative problem-solver. Previously to moving to Denver, she
worked at Dailey, A DRAFTFCB company in Los Angeles. Her past clients include:  Proctor& Gamble, Nabisco, Clairol, Nestle. Wh
ile working at Dailey Advertising in Los Angeles, she oversaw the agency’s pro bono work on behalf of the Rape Treatment Center, a program based out of St. John’s hospital that is nationally recognized for their treatment, education and prevention programs.  Under her leadership, Dailey provided a variety of marketing support materials for the RTC  including promotional pieces for the Center as well as campus outreach communications to educate high school and college students on a wide variety of sexual violence issues.

Natalie Goldstein, Media Relations Manager—Children’s Hospital Colorado
Natalie has over 15 years of experience in journalism, which allows her to offer a unique insight into how reporters think and what story angles they like to cover. Natalie’s extensive media and public relations background allows her to provide Children’s Hospital Colorado with creative ideas for media coverage. She has lead the media relations team at Children’s Colorado for 10 years. Natalie’s journalism background includes research and planning positions at KUSA-TV, KMGH-TV and WB 2. Immediately prior to joining Children’s, Natalie was the Director of Media Relations at MGA Communications. Natalie managed several different types of media relations accounts, including high tech, education and environmental. Natalie also worked as the media relations manager at Xcel Energy. Natalie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Colorado State University. She has received numerous awards for her work in the field of media relations. Natalie has two beautiful daughters, Erin (16-years old) and Dylan ( 9-years old).

Karen Kinnie Liley, Education Leadership—Educator—Musician
Karen's background includes 22 years of experience in elementary education as Principal, Assistant Principal, Media/Technology Specialist and Special Education & Classroom Teacher. She received her Ed.S-Leadership and Policy Studies, Masters-Severe Needs Communicative Education and Bachelor of Science-Vocational Rehabilitation/Minor-Music, from UNC. Her experience includes extensive work in culturally responsive education, assessment/data analysis and research based instructional practices. Karen has also blended her music background in her work with children, writing songs with specific focus invoking the development of a caring community. Prior to her work in education she served as a Director of Liturgical Music. At the same time Karen was proud to join EKKLESIA, a liturgical music and recording group. Among her most memorable honors, was the privilege to sing with EKKLESIA for the Pope's visit at World Youth Day in 1993. Karen's number one pride and joy is her wonderful family: Husband Dean, Son Mark—wife Stefanie and Daughter Giuliana and Daughter Marie—husband Nick and daughter Angelina.

Jackie Norris
Jackie has spent her adult life working in the nonprofit sector, first with the American Red Cross for almost 25 years, and then as Executive Director of Metro Volunteers for almost 14 years. She has
served on and worked with numerous boards and commissions, and is a trainer and consultant in board development and volunteer engagement. Jackie has trained locally, nationally and internationally in volunteer engagement, and currently volunteers in a variety of capacities with several local organizations, as well as serving on the board of RAAP, the American Red Cross, and the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award Program. She has received numerous awards for volunteer management, nonprofit capacity building, and fundraising.

Amanda K. Slater, Trial Attorney, U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor
Amanda joined the Board of Directors in January 2012. She currently works as a trial attorney for the MSHA Backlog Project in Denver. This involves litigating cases before the Federal Mine Safety
and Health Review Commission to help protect the safety of the Nation’s miners. Prior to moving to Denver in May of 2010, Amanda lived in Washington D.C. where she worked for a major law firm. She has also worked at and volunteered with the Family Law Unit of the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia where, among other things, she assisted clients in obtaining civil protection orders. Amanda has a BBA in Finance from the College of William & Mary and received her law degree from the University of Virginia. She has enjoyed the active and adventurous culture of Colorado and is always up for trying new things preferably with her adorable dog Scarlett.

Katie Walsh
Katie joined the RAAP Board of Directors in January 2011 and currently serves on the Finance and Events Committees. Since December 2005, she has been employed by the University of Colorado Hospital serving in a variety of roles in Supply Chain Management. She currently utilizes her analytic, negotiating and communication skills in her role as a Contract and Value Analyst. She has been the recipient of the President's Award at UCH, and has been nominated two additional times. She is an active member of the Whittier Neighborhood Association and an occasional volunteer for Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado. In 2001, she earned a BBA in Marketing from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Katie is married—she and husband, Ryan share their oft-renovated home with three furry, four-legged kids. They enjoy Colorado's many outdoorsy activities, gardening, reading, watching baseball and spending time with family and friends.
