The mission of the Rape Assistance and Awareness Program (RAAP) is to eliminate sexual violence. Prevention Education is critical to achieving this goal. For more than 20 years, RAAP has been a leader in providing sexual violence prevention curricula to children and adults throughout metro Denver.
Children and teenagers are most often the victims of sexual assault or abuse. One in four girls and one in six boys will be the victim of sexual abuse by the age of 18 (National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect).
RAAP's Community Educators, who undergo extensive training on sexual assault issues and effective teaching techniques, provide training in school and community settings to students, parents, and teachers. RAAP also provides self-defense training for girls (ages 9 and up) and women, in an all-female format.
