Thank you for your interest in the Personal Safety Skills Class for Women and Girls taught by the Rape Assistance and Awareness Program!
Please review the public class schedule to determine which class you would like to attend. We ask that students register by pre-paying a minimum of 50% of the cost of the course. This will reserve your space. Registration deadlines are at least one week prior to the first class date. Due to the generally small sizes of our classes, space is limited. IMPORTANT! All women and girls participants are highly encouraged to attend the class with a supportive female-identified friend or family member. Young women ages 13-16 must enroll with a female parent/guardian, other adult family member or mentor.

About the Class:
Participating in a self-protection class can bring up concerns and fears for many women and girls. We want to assure you that our classes are open to women of all different physical abilities, sizes and ages. We aim to create a safe and comfortable environment where you can learn about some options you have in defending yourself against an assault. Due to the nature of the topic, we also highly encourage ALL participants to enroll with a supportive friend or family member as well. Please arrive on time, bring along a water bottle, and wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing - sweats are great! For 6-12 hour Women's classes, we will break for lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm. Students can bring a lunch or pick up something in the neighborhood.
Guidelines for Parents/Gaurdians of girl participants ages 9-12 years:
Parents of girls in our Safety Skills for Girls class are welcome to observe the class, but we ask that you be conscious of your child's comfort level with your presence. We would like our participants to feel safe and comfortable to ask any questions or share stories with the group. If you choose to stay for all or portions of the class, we ask that you please remain on the outskirts of the classroom. Feel free to ask the instructor questions before or after class, not during. We encourage you to return 15-20 minutes before the end of the class to watch your girl(s) break boards!
We look forward to working with you in the one of our PSSW/G classes!
Please call 303.329.9922, ext. 317 or email the Prevention Education Coordinator if you have any questions.
